Propose an idea.
Something in your workday that takes five steps and should take one? Tell us. Most ideas will not be built. Every one is read and answered.
Four questions every SW forge tool answers.
An idea does not have to pass all four to be worth sending.
- Forged by people.
- Does it remove one thing that is in the way, for someone you can name?
- Run by agents.
- Could an agent use it too, through an API, a CLI or an MCP server?
- Owned by you.
- Can it be open source, with no account and no subscription in front of it?
- An open door.
- Could somebody other than you help build it?
Write it down.
Open a new discussion on GitHub and answer three questions:
- What is in the way?
- Who runs into it?
- What have you tried?
If the discussion opens empty, copy the text here and paste it there.
Nothing leaves this page until you press the button. Then GitHub opens a new discussion with your text in it, and you post it from your own account.
Every idea gets an answer.
The answer comes in its discussion on GitHub. Most ideas are not built, and the answer says so instead of leaving it open. One that is built gets no date in advance. It ships when it works.
